AquaponicsHome publishes practical guides on small-scale aquaponics: balcony, rooftop, and indoor systems for beginners and hobbyists. This page explains the standards every guide on this site meets.

Tested before published

The core promise of this site is simple. All guides come from hands-on experience with real, small-scale systems, including the failures. When a guide describes a build, a fix, or a routine, it reflects what actually happened on a working setup, not theory pulled from other websites. Where something has not been personally tested, the guide says so plainly.

Honest about scope

This site covers beginner-to-intermediate, small-scale home systems. It does not cover commercial aquaculture, and it does not pretend to. When a topic goes beyond that scope, like deep water chemistry, fish disease diagnosis, or commercial-scale engineering, guides point you to proper research and qualified professionals instead of improvising an answer.

Sourcing standards

  • Scientific and technical claims (water-quality thresholds, cycling timelines, species requirements) are checked against reputable sources such as university agricultural extensions and published research, and those sources are linked.
  • No fabricated statistics, no invented “average” figures, no results we cannot stand behind.
  • Product mentions are based on actual use. This site does not review products it has not run on a real system. (See our Affiliate Disclosure for how product links are handled.)

No promised outcomes

Aquaponics results vary with climate, water, species, and care. Guides here describe what worked and what didn’t on specific setups. They are not guarantees of harvests, growth rates, or fish survival.

Corrections

Mistakes get fixed, visibly. If you spot an error, a wrong number, an outdated recommendation, or a broken link, please report it via the Contact page. Corrections that change a guide’s advice are noted in the affected article with the date of the update.

Updates

Guides are living documents. As systems get rebuilt and lessons accumulate, older guides are revisited and updated rather than left to rot.
